It is now the festive season and I am sure you guys know that all mega spanking new shopping malls in Singapore and Singapore's premier shopping district Orchard Road are packed with truckloads of people. Honestly, people come out with all sorts of excuses like "it is fun to soak in the Christmas atmosphere" or "nice crowd" to justify for their undesirable shopping experience. But face it, it is...

FUCKING IRRITATING TO SHOP WITH A LARGE CROWD WHEN YOU CAN'T MOVE AN INCH!

And while one can argue that Singapore is the world's shopping hub and has one of the largest variety of fashion, it is still an undeniable fact that shopping for male high street fashion, in particular, apparel at an affordable price is still very much lacking. And for the females, while they are spoilt for choices, why not opt for cheaper, more value for money choices while not compromising on quality and design?

Therefore, I am very very pleased to introduce to you guys two blogshops that i have personally visited, and I shall share with you my personal insights! YEAH.

Recommendation #1 : The Blackdog Store - offers unique high fashion apparel for contemporary males. designs are simple and classic.

Evaluation:

Pricing -- Affordable. This Christmas season, the blackdogstore is back to offer FANTASTIC deals @ 10% off regular prices. Great happiness!

Service -- Prompt and efficient. The coordinator Pam replies within 24hours as promised. She is friendly and service-oriented.

Quality of Goods - Material is slightly thin. Suitable for Singapore's humid climate but may be subjected to easy wear and tear.

Payment - Electronic Bank transfer. Popular and easy because it relies on POSB/DBS Bank transfer. Could be improved by providing e-transfers for other leading banks like UOB, OCBC etc.

Polo Boys - Hot Bods work well with a poor script?

Think again!

What a meat market gosh!

Hot bod sells? Huge package eh?

Does the drama promote water polo in any way?

Does Nat Ho have what it takes to be a polo boy or a stick man?

Caught snippets of this much hyped up sports themed drama about water polo. The story is about Keong, a shy, quiet loner, who moves into Chan Hsu Lin Hall in Temasek University as a first-year student. He gets roped into the newly-formed Hall water polo team... and gets much more than he bargained for.

And suddenly, Singapore is caught by the hunks' fever. Girls drooled over the polo boys. Confused boys were green in envy. Aunties were caught by the pretty boy wave.

Mediacorp sensationalises this phenomenon. The media station apparently aims to wow the audiences with their so called winning formula - hot hunks to be ogled at plus a sports themed drama that emphasizes on friendship, teamwork and the spirit of water polo.

So did it work well for local viewers? Apparently not. Despite much hype and buzz created through Mediacorp's aggressive marketing, roadshows, appearances at nightclubs, it seems that viewership has not done justice to its publicity. Why?Despite such an eye catching cast with boys so pleasing to the eyes, it is soon obvious to the audience that the storyline of the drama is purely CRAP.

Face it.

Polo boys is OVERRATED. The script is boring and the dialogue does not make any sense. It is so painful to watch the boys worrying over relationship problems, and such problems are mere stereotypes so typical that I believe that tons of soap dramas have portrayed them . If you think that's the level of ridiculousness, here comes the idea of parental objection of joining water polo at UNIVERSITY LEVEL! Omg does that exist in 21st century Singapore? This is so obnoxious and unbelievable.

More ridiculous storyline coming up. Professor Lee falling in love with coach, writing him a love letter?! A coach who knows NUTS about water polo, yet can coach a team? What else can Mediacorp think of man?

i must say that the quality of local drama has hit its all time low. total let down as compared to those in the 90s.

i feel some what embarrassed to tell foreign friends that the "stuff" they see on TV showcased the best artistes we've got. I'm not a TV addict and i seldom watch TV these yrs. each tune in is always a let down.

i hope that Mediacorp does water polo more justice. The station has done nothing to emphasize on Singapore's 23 gold medal glory at SEA games and coupled with a poor script, I don't know how will Singaporeans be encouraged to do the sport...

What a disappointment.

after 18 years of trying to figure out what I want to do in life, I'm finally seeing some light in what might possibly be the very one job that I would really enjoy - to model. (Haha, it's quite fun actually, although may not be able to craft out a career).The lights, the flashes, the different poses, the different looks that I always look forward to. looking good has always been a part of my life and it's always the main motivation to have me in the gym - so I could be buff and man.

well for now everything's kinda like a dream to me. I have absolutely no idea whether or not that will happen anytime soon in the near future. but what I know is that modelling will always be like a part of my life, even if that means I have to try very very hard! :)

it's ABALONE time.

so for the past few weeks I have been scouting town for the best dining experiences. and I found cheap and good abalone right in Orchard Central. Orchard Central may seem like a place with many different shops with bad organisation and poor concept, nevertheless, if you put in time and effort, you may discover hidden treasures!

So, together with my Japanese friend Tomoya, he "instigated" me to try Ah Yat Abalone Set Meal. At first, I was reluctant because I felt that it was no occasion! But, the offer was TOO GOOD TO RESIST! Imagine two sets of abalone meals for just $21 NETT!!!

October has been a month of great fun for me. For the record, I actually did reasonably well for my examinations! :) and i finally get to drop Maths yeah! So officially, I am an aspiring philosopher, a learned historian, a literary analyst and a budding economist.

So much awaits me as holidays beckon. What's in store includes lots of photoshoots, camwhoring, hair experiences, shopping sprees, gastronomical experiences, outdoor fun, sports, games, friends getting together... Omg i am so looking forward to all those!

I know i have not been updating for the longest time, but I really feel real good these days! Love life has been better than ever. School is such a joy. Work is a breeze. Family and friends are stable and supportive. Hobbies that I like to pursue (p.s dragonboating is my latest adventure) are on the way. So, I cant find any reasons to complain about my rather "lucky" life.

So, let me share with you some experiences I had lately, mainly about food and games.

I seem to have changed. Really?

I once remembered that as a kid, i used to yearn to grow up. I wanted to see the world, I wanted to live the life of an adult and freed myself of restrictions. Perhaps I had a very difficult childhood, I lived the life that was so unlike a kid.

When I was young, everything was within my grasp. I remembered that I was rewarded for everything. I was an overachiever, I excelled in every field that I embarked on. Did I feel a sense of pride when I topped school again and again? Did I feel happy? Was I ever contented? Nevertheless, I just worked hard. Because what used to define me was hard work and achievement.

When I was young, i was innocent and idealistic. I believed in fairy tales stories that my Dad used to tell me. Romantic novels say that true love exists, there is such a thing as "happily ever after". There is someone who will be there for you when you need. Is it true? Affairs? Sleepovers? Two timers? Time and again it existed. Am I too pessimistic? I doubt so.

I wondered if I have grown up. Because I still think true love exists. I still believe that as long as I wait, it will come. Has it?

I believe that love is about giving in and sacrifices. I scorn at my friends who are so in love with their other half. To me, that is temporal. I do not see a future in them. Then, I tried to bury myself in accomplishments, perfection, money, academic success and friends. People criticize me. They say that I am superficial, childish, materialistic and impractical. Yes, I do feel empty but just because of that doesn't mean that I have to believe in relationships.

I fucking screwed up my life when I really believed that there is true love. I travelled around Singapore to buy food for my partner. I tried to help her in her work. I spent every minute with her and tried to catch up with her if possible. I was happy. I smiled genuinely. That was the only occasion I gave it all up. Me. Myself. and my ONE AND ONLY HEART.

I cried. Because I was truly myself and that was the problem. She detested me for my habits, she complained about my geniality. I realised that humans are selfish. They fall in love with you, not for who you are but what you represent.

Yet, here I am, I still believe in love. I don't care if you cheat, you lie, you fade again. Cos it is only in fairy tales that there is forever.

I am looking for someone who can share happiness with. Someone to hear me when I am sad, someone to share, someone to be myself.

Over the years, I am getting better, in whatever way the society defines as "good".

But I am still the same Shao Wei, as before.

Longing for love. Because that is the greatest gift of life.

and I believe that I exist because I can trust, I can have faith in relationships.

So I don't care. Hurt me again. 1000 times. I still want to try. I still want to be genuine to myself. This is my only life.

I want you to walk with me. I want to take care of you and I want you to accept me for who I am.

Christian Lacroix the costumier
